along The Seawall in Stanley Park

The Lion's Gate Bridge

Another cool sculpture with The Lion's Gate Bridge in the background. The bridge takes us to West Vancouver where Whole Foods is and also gets us on the road to Whistler.

Lady on a Rock

Some kind of strange sea creature.

The Cannon

The 9PM cannon. The cannon goes off every night at 9PM. Behind is where the cruise ships dock - I guess someone likes to go on cruises. Those are some big boats.
The view from Stanley Park back towards the city.
The scultpure "Jaguar" by another American artist. This is also the dog park, however I have rarely seen dogs here.
Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies from the Blue Edge Organic Cafe along The Seawall.
Coal Harbor, above with Stanley Park in the background, is filled with boats and othe floating things: sail boats, motor boats, tug boats, yachts (super fancy boats), cruise ships, barges, row boats, kayaks, a floating gas station and sea planes.

....continuing on the Tour de Vancouver

The second stop brings us to The Seawall. The Seawall is a trail that wraps around Stanley Park and the city right on the water. The trail is very busy. There are bikers, runners, pedestrians, tourists and roller bladers galore. I noticed today that outside the park there is a ratio of small dogs to big dogs of about 20:1. After entering the park the ratio changes to about 1:10 (maybe little dogs just can't walk that far?) The park takes up 1,000 acres. Above is a sculpture by an American artist titled "Device to Root out Evil." Appears to be an upside down school house. hmmm...

Tour de Vancouver: Coal Harbor (Seawall to Stanley Park)

In celebration of officially being back in Vancouver I decided to take my Masi, my messanger bag and my camera on a quick Tour de Vancouver. This will be Part 1 of numerous tours as the City of Vancouver is known for it's bike routes and beautiful scenery. Above, my first stop on the tour, is Brendan and my new favorite coffee shop: Cafe Artigiano. It is around the block from us and if you stop over around 7:30AM, 10:30AM or 3PM there is a line out the door. Luckily, there is a Starbucks right across the street....and another coffee shop across the other street.
