Beth and Gina's Commitment Ceremony

Last weekend Brendan and I met my immediate family in L.A. for Beth and Gina's commitment ceremony. I know this isn't technically an "adventure in B.C.", but there were a few firsts involved. Two good examles would be: our first time parking in the economy lot at the airport and the first time we've ever flown out and back into Vancouver together. Anyway, we had a great time at the ceremony and had lots of good Berlin Family Fun.

Before and after of Meredith's first try at apple pie with cinnamon-y crumbles on top. It turned out to be delicious...we'll be eating apple pie for every meal all week.

Needle Peak Hike

Last Saturday we went on a hike inland - about 2 hours east of Vancouver toward the Rocky Mountains. It was great seeing another beautiful area. If we would have driven another few hours east we would have hit Kamloops. Kamloops is where Sun Peaks Ski Area is. Brendan's company is working on the Golden Ears Bridge project with a German construction company. About every other week, Georg (gay-org), plans a hiking trip and invites people involved with the project. There were 5 from Germany, 3 from England, 1 from Taiwan and me and Brendan. It was fun hearing everyone's stories and how they ended up here in Canada.

We were initially a bit shy to introduce our new appliance, however now that we have mastered the fine art of espresso making, we no longer have any inhibitions. Yet another excellent reason to come visit.
